Would it come out decent if you cut the top of your hair with the highest guard length you use? Like a faded buzz cut kinda.. just curious.

How would i blend 1into 2 using the 1 1/2 guard? Using this method.
Jo Letty (13 days ago)
Thank you, finally someone who shows in slow motion what the open and close lever means. The long and short position the lever gives to the cut, thank you very much for that! 🤣👍👏👏 Excellent job ! 😊
Nicholas Hall (16 days ago)
Your simple video has put $60/month back into our humble family budget. This clip inspired me to cut my own hair for the very first time. It came out great! I'm on my 5th self-cut now and they are getting better and better (a homemade 3-way mirror is really helps!). My haircuts are already better than I was getting at my barber. Now I'm starting on my two son's haircuts too. I can't thank you enough.
Kmicic84 (17 days ago)
Can you please tell me what kind of shaver did you use? Also any models that are similar to this one. Switching looks easy and it works nice with short lenght.

This may be a good video however i would not want to be his client with no drape on me and hair just going everywhere being in my clothes and everything
Stephanie Jordan (1 month ago)
Very good tutorial! By far the best one on I've seen. I do have a question though... When doing a fade with a comb-over, how do you taper the back of the hair where it's longer? Which attachment would you recommend? I used a 1, 2 & 3, just like you did in this video but the back doesn't look right to me. The hair on top is about the same length as the #8 attachment..
Stephanie Jordan, thanks! Use a comb and scissors. Check out my fade and scissors tutorial, it might help. All you want to do is manually fade between the fade and the long hair on top using scissors
Sreypoeu Sar (1 month ago)
You are the best. I always get stuck when cutting mens hair with clippers. You truly explain to where I finally understand the steps compare to other youtubes. Thank you and keep coming with more tutorials.

Thanks for this! As stated by other comments, too many videos on fading with glitz and glam and fame, when all I want is a good 'ole fashion fade. I cut my husband's hair. To his surprise very well as I've never cut hair before, because I've watched professionals cut his hair for over 10 years. But they could never cut it right and always cut their way. My husband wanted only the sides trimmed, tips on top only trimmed and his bangs left alone. Friggin old man gave him a damn military grade buzz cut. I've talked to my husband about fading and have shown him what it looks like and he wants to go for it. So I've come to your video to give it a try. Thanks for this easy, down to earth video for a simply fade on the sides with a well polished bottom.
Christin S., really glad to hear that! Thanks for sharing

To clarify. When you say longer than shorter. When it’s longer that means the lever is opened and shorter means lever closed? 😳

Tried this on my husband but I don't know what I did wrong. I followed the steps you said exactly but I could not get it to blend. I don't know if we had bad clippers or I wasn't pushing hard enough but sadly it was a fail. Will try again, but dang I hope it goes right next time

Not sure what to do if I can’t do half sizes on my razor
Julia, it might be worth investing in another set of clippers if you’re going to make a habit of cutting hair. The lever on the side is crucial

help i have a line in the middle of my head. It wont blend i followed all your steps
Shab0y, ok, so this is what to do: in between the 1 and 3 use a 2 opened then underneath that use a 2 closed then underneath that use the 1 opened. Make sense? So pretty much everything is the same but you’re adding a 2 opened/long
Shab0y (2 months ago)
guard 3 and 1
Shab0y, the line is in between which guards?

NUMBERONETOYOU (3 months ago)
I don’t get it, where do you know where to stop?
NUMBERONETOYOU (3 months ago)
Tips for Clips - Haircutting got it
NUMBERONETOYOU, the first step you can go as high or as low as you want. The second step go up about 2 inches from the original line. The third step go up about 1.5 inches from the original line. The fourth step go up about 1 inch from the original line. So the point for steps 2-4 is to always stay under the previous step. Make sense?
NUMBERONETOYOU (3 months ago)
Like where you need to fade it
