Hello my friends. I just posted a video of a collaboration with another loved Youtuber, Kathryn from "Do it on a Dime". in 3 days we transformed a room in her home using my "High-end" design principals but on her BUDGET! Its pretty remarkable. Enjoy :-) RR https://youtu.be/EPMinIOkclk
I LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR HOME!!! WERE THE CABINETS UPSTAIRS THAT HOLDS YOUR WHITE TOWELS A CUSTOM BUILT CABINET WITH DRAWERS? AND I HOPE TO ASK YOU FOR THE NAME OF THE COMPANY THAT DID YOU IRON WORK ON YOUR STAIR RAILS! ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. NEW SUBSCRIBER. I AM HOOKED. YOU NEED YOUR OWN SHOW 🤗
Beautiful home you have and self designed. You're a GREAT designer.
We actually sold our home and are now living in a double wide manufactured home on 5 Acres. I'm free... I am no longer house poor, but I am redecorating and remodeling this double-wide. Most of the things you mentioned here on this video couldn't be done in a double-wide, but I would like to ask you a question. Do you still stick to the old antich that every room needs to have the same color flow palette? I know you understand what I mean, but for those that don't... It means does every room be from the same color family.
I think each and every room should have its own personality. I would just like to know what you think?
Enjoyed watching your "10 Design Tips." It was so refreshing to see that someone else thinks out of the box. The hidden doors; balancing the kitchen, linen closet and bedroom closet will be on my mind as I begin to transform my home. I look forward to seeing more of your design ideas and thanks for your intelligent witty perspective on the whole idea of designing a home without financial debt.
Oh, and "by-the-way," your flanking those buffets' by cutting off the feet yet, keeping them for any possible future use was "Absolutely, marvelous darling!" lol!
Kitchen: Have wall plants in front of shutter (nail up shutter 4 inches above counter). Shutter looks to cluttered unless there is a function. Have the mirror behind the buffet painted w a white frame. Allow the. Twinsies to blend. Great idea with cutting off legs. May e u can go smaller with your furniture. Simple elegance, less bulk. Then u can have standing plants like fig plants to tie in nature. It’s a little too TJ maxxi.
I wish I could give you an actual number but to be honest we did this renovation 15 years ago. I don’t remember the cost and 15 years later... the cost would be... of course, different. My advise would be to pause the video and grab a screen shot. Show it to a contractor and get a bid. I’m so glad you gleaned some ideas and I’m hopeful you can implement some of these ideas in your own home 👍🏻. RR
You’re right Laura. Christmas will be here before you know it. Yes, I’ve been Christmas decorating and filming since the first week in August! We have 4 Christmas trees for my Youtube viewers and 3 more for Design Sessions viewers, available only on my website. Youtube goes live the first week in November 👍🏻
Absolutely FANTASTIC video. VERY helpful and informative and I truly LOVE you worked with what you had and didn’t spend millions. Thank You so much for such wonderful ideas and showing you can have a beautiful home without breaking the bank and spending money you don’t have. Brilliant.
I had pendant lights that were to be above a 6' kitchen island, with a stand alone wall at one end and full cabinets on the other (L shaped kitchen). I decided the blank wall on the one end would look ridiculous as the kitchen would be unbalanced. I decided to add a full double door base cabinet with a double door 18" upper cabinet on the blank wall. I added seeded glass in the upper cabinet doors and use it for wine glasses etc.
Because we shrank the island from 6' to 5', the pendant lights wouldn't be centered. The guys (my husband and neighbor) didn't even realize what occurred when the island shrank and didn't have the electrician move the electrical boxes. They told me they weren't going to move the boxes and patch holes in the ceiling. They had no vision whatsoever. I told them to build me a 5' long encasement that would hide the original electrical boxes and allow the lights to be centered above the island. It looks like it was planned and it would have looked odd not to have it when I look at it now. A solution that others may want to consider if they need to move lighting.
Your home is beautiful and your creativity and conquer-any-challenge attitude are an inspiration. Just the one I needed, as a matter-of-fact, as I'm in the middle of remodeling my kitchen. THANK YOU! I can't wait to see the video on storing jewelry! That being said, with this being my 5th year in remission from breast cancer, a public comment in October would not be complete without saying to my sisters, "Ladies, be sure to guard the rack that protects your chest!" Remember how valuable the heart that lies beneath is and help keep it beating for many years to come by performing routine breast exams. And, gentleman, remember: Men can get breast cancer, too. If you find something that appears odd, have it checked!
Thank you for the nice compliments. I love hearing from my viewers, especially when you are finding things that inspire you in your own home decor adventure. Congratulations on 5 years of remission. That’s wonderful and your advice for staying on top of routine mammogram’s is noted. Too Busy, is not an excuse any of us can afford! Now for you my friend, if you are indeed in the middle of a home or kitchen remodel, the best advice I can give you is to take your skills to the next level and join The Design Sessions. Not here on YT but on my website, Robesondesign(dot)com. Check them out. It’s exactly what you need right now! Hugs, RR
I like that her home isn't so pricey that it feels unaccessible. Sometimes you see these and it's almost like people are not aware that the majority of us couldn't afford what they're doing. But I feel most of what she did is attainable. I like how she cut off the legs of the vintage pieces, but I wish that she would have talked a little more about the faux window the fact that she made with the mirror on the left side in that dining room.
Damn-- you are g-o-o-d!
Love your home tour.
Subscribed-- 'cause I live in north county SD-- and pray I can afford your services one day.
P.S. I love the way you approach design.
Have no fear-- just have fun!
Hadasah777 well thank you for sharing your favorite. I’m hopeful you will continue to follow us on youtube. You like this? You’re going to love our clients projects. Regardless the budget, every element is transferable and can be used in your own home! ENJOY Hadasah 👍🏻
I keep coming back to this video, from time to time, because it truly is sensational what you did to this house. It is a testimony to your designing genius. When you see the before and after pictures, it is almost impossible to fathom that this is the same house. It also underscores that a house does not have to be a mansion to be greatly improved by understanding the elements of good design. For my own life, I have had to scale back some of the ideas for a much smaller home, but the whole idea of how "the wow factor" can make a difference is what this video has brought to life for me. Rebecca, you are truly one of a kind. Keep the great videos coming!
Good After you are so great i was looking your YouTube i will like to work with you am also a design from Africa just arrive on a visit you are so great , The is my email address [email protected] am in California
Hi I enjoyed your video. I have an idea for your kitchen, instead of having a shutter to the right of your sink why not have a big chalk board instead. Home goods have some pretty nice ones with the head of the chef at the top of the chalk board.
Love how you think outside the box! And that you showed how to work within some limits. When people have no limits to the money they can spend, what's the challenge? But the little tweeks are amazing. Question! What was the disadvantage to mounting the shudder on the right side of the kitchen rather than just standing it against the wall?
You have taken eh to fabulous and I love the removal of the legs.
I would have done the same thing. If it fits it sits... I made a coffee table and end tables out of beautiful Stone pots and customized glass tops.
Hi my home's layout is a little like yours. I bought lots Rae Dunn.... Do you want to decorate my home with it ? lol I'm not a farmhouse kinda person, buy I love it and it's been fun waiting for days and hours for a score.
A hidden door camouflaged as a bookshelf would look great under the stairs. You could even make it shorter than the other doors to break up the consistent height. A storage “door” doesn’t need to be as tall.

For Pixel 2: To flash the bootloader, Pixel 2s boot loader must be updated to at least Oreo MR1s version first. This may be done by applying an over-the-air (OTA) update, or sideloading a full OTA with the instructions on that page.
For Pixel 2 XL only with loader version prior to TMZ20a: the critical partitions may also need to be unlocked before flashing. The unlock can be performed with this command, and should NOT be done on other devices:
If you are updating an older device, run this command:
The target device will show you a confirmation screen. (This erases all data on the target device.)
