We furnished a newly remodeled Century Modern Home in our latest home tour. The reveal will definitely be fun for design lovers!
We partnered with Northstar Builders and staged their Mid-Century Modern renovation. This was a different type of project for us. Typically we're working with a client and paying attention to their wants and tastes. However, with this this staging project we needed to show off the space and prepare it to sell. We kept with the mid-century modern look in a way that wasn't "themey" by adding warmth and dimension with the design details and styling. MORE Studio McGee:
He's not my man friend, he's my husband and partner in this business! We're partners in Studio McGee and our videos are professional, yes, but they are also fun! Our fans love to get a behind the scenes look at how our installs really are! We get more requests for behind the scenes looks at install days more than anything else.
I like it but I actually prefer a more authentic, kitschy mid century modern look. This is a bit too generic for my tastes. Mid century modern is supposed to be polarizing and this comes across as a bit watered down and diluted. Don't get me wrong, it looks great, but I personally would have done things a bit differently is all.
Love your videos. So inspiring. Already made a list what all to buy from your store. Could you please tell where is the dining table and side tables from? They match so well with the whole decor but i donno where to find them.
Yep, if you read the link we sent over you'll see that we said the dining table is RH (https://www.restorationhardware.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod2270002&categoryId=cat1990015&crl8_id=62abc6e2-2d3f-48f9-a8ca-d63bf6a7d3d2), and the side table) and that the side table is a designer trade item. It's made by Four Hands.
truly impeccable design and artistry in your work Studio McGee, consistently amazing! so grateful I found your channel. My family is based in Canada but if you still do the "e-design" I would book with you in a second! xx
Thank you Rosa!! You can shop the look here: http://www.studio-mcgee.com/studioblog/2017/4/18/mid-century-modern-install-webisode, most of the products from our shop McGee & Co.! I love the resulta of the project, congrats! Iwould you be so kind to answer to questions : 1 -What do you cut out and Putin under the carpet? 2. What can I put underneath my small one to avoid slipping? Thank you👍🤗
So I just stumbled upon this channel and then spent hours watching all their videos and became a fan! I LOVE studioMcgee and their style. They're inspiring, and their job looks so fun! Wish it was what I was doing everyday. But since I haven't been brave enough to quit teaching to pursue designing, I recently got addicted to the App game DESIGNHOME lol. I think it is affiliated with HGTV. I've noticed the decor products from the game are the same products used in most of Studio Mcgee's staging. Coffee tables to rugs to couches to end tables....and even accessories like plants and lamps. CrAZy! Has anyone else noticed & know What the connection is? It can't just be coincidence...hmmm.
Greetings from the U.K. Absolutely love this styling- your best yet! Although your designs aren't always my style, there's always something to admire. But in this case, I'm ready to move in now :). Thanks! X
Great staging! I was already imagining myself there. Really clean, bright, relaxing with mass appeal. I love that floor lamp with the big shade, it would be so great with a dimmer. Can you say where it's from?
Wow... just wow. Amazing job. You guys are really talented. Not many could match things the way you guys do. Its true that the room looks eclectic and not matchy matchy like it came from the same store.
The best staging I've seen for a Mid-Century Modern home! I hate it when the design and staging gets too kitschy. I love how you made it modern with a touch of mid-century while still keeping it warm with woods and some subtle feminine touches. Really well done!
This is such a great design because, to me, it also shows how clean the house looks. Mid-century is so nice because you can see under the furniture and in corners. Open and clean. Perfect for an upcoming sale. Well done as always! 👏👏
Absolutely love the mix of materials! I know every project is different but did this one somehow feel a little funner to put together for a broader range of people as opposed to one client or two clients? Did it sort of allow more freedom to play if that makes sense?
Your designs are so so so beautiful, in every different style I see your signature and your passion.
But PLEASE stop these fake scenes like "oh he just came by" or " we are sitting together because..."
You don't need that! The homes you create and your explanations are already great :)
