I screwed my hair up last night and ended up saying heck with it and just shaved my head, literally razered it. I'll try again in a couple weeks when it's long enough. The challenge for me is getting the back properly faded.
0:00 -1:15 guard closed / strong line
1:16 - 1:30 2 guard open / blend to top of head
1:31 - 1:42 1 guard open / blend to 2 area
1:43 - 2:00 1 guard closed / blend to 1.5
2:01 - 2:20 lever fully open / blend to 1
2:30 - 3:00 lever half open / blend to 0.5
3:01 - 3:15 guard fully closed / blend to 0
3:17 - 3:42 3 guard open / blend top
3:42 - end clean up
Hope this help guys ✌️
Any tips on using the opposite hand? that is my downfall for doing it myself, I have to wrap my dominate hand around... and it makes it wicked difficult. It's near impossible for me to swap to my left hand to get the left side..
Thanks for the video man. I watched this video multiple times to get a better understanding on how to fade my own hair since haircuts are getting more and more expensive. I attempted to cut my 3 weeks in a row and I can honestly say my haircuts are getting better and better each time. I am still having trouble getting rid of some of the lines, but its a learning process. Like you said, " When you cut your own hair, don't expect a perfect haircut." Thanks again for the video. Lastly, do you recommend any set of clippers that are good for beginners who cut their own hair and maybe a few others like my two sons. I purchased a WAHL set from Wal-Mart for $19.99, but will consider purchasing a better set if you offer any recommendations.
Hi , how long did it take to you to master the whole thing ? I live in Denmark and I have to go to the hairdresser every week and it costs a lot :D That is why I think I could save some money and start doing it on my own :))
I just gave myself a fade for the first time. The hardest part is getting a straight line. I laid a comb flat and used that as a guide line. It's really hard working in the back since everything's reversed. I ended up using a phone and iPad to monitor the back. Still was difficult. I think next time will go a little better now that I have some experience
I made my own DIY triple fold mirror, tonight im gonna go for it. It feels like gettin ready for sky dive. I let my work colleagues know, that if dont show up 2morrow at work it means I FUCKED IT UP😨😨😨😨😨
I'm here cuz my barber has gone from 12 dollars to 22 dollars within about a year and a half lol and everywhere else is 25 dollars hahaha screw that. Nice tutorial. I think it's time I cut my own hair. My friend does it already lol
Hey man I'm trying to learn how to fade like this for myself, but the lingo you're using is kinda hard for me to understand. I currently have the philips multigroom series 3000 cordless, will that be sufficient and effective in getting similar results like in the video? Thanks in advance!
I've been cutting my own hair since I was 16. This is a great tutorial. It definitely makes it look easy. Also, I apologise for the gerks that gave you a thumbs down. Some people just hate. You know how it is. Thanks again for the great content.
How you doing man? Do you have an Instagram so I can keep in touch and message you if I have questions? I’m literally just watching your vids right now and hopefully in a couple weeks start to get hands on.

Download the appropriate system image for your device below, then unzip it to a safe directory.
Connect your device to your computer over USB.
Start the device in fastboot mode with one of the following methods:
Using the adb tool: With the device powered on, execute:
Using a key combo: Turn the device off, then turn it on and immediately hold down the relevant key combination for your device.
If necessary, unlock the devices bootloader using one of the following methods:
If you are updating a Nexus or Pixel device that is manufactured in 2015 or later (for example, a Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL device), run this command:
For Pixel 2: To flash the bootloader, Pixel 2s boot loader must be updated to at least Oreo MR1s version first. This may be done by applying an over-the-air (OTA) update, or sideloading a full OTA with the instructions on that page.
For Pixel 2 XL only with loader version prior to TMZ20a: the critical partitions may also need to be unlocked before flashing. The unlock can be performed with this command, and should NOT be done on other devices:
If you are updating an older device, run this command:
The target device will show you a confirmation screen. (This erases all data on the target device.)
See Unlocking the bootloader for more detailed instructions.
Open a terminal and navigate to the unzipped system image directory.
