Step by step, easy to follow directions. How to do a men's or boy's fade hair cut with clippers.
Supplies: Clippers, Edgers, Scissors, Cape, Water Bottle,
Time : 20-30 minutes
Skill Level: Beginner
Step by Step Directions : Sides & Back ~ I started this Hair Cut with a #4 guard on my Clippers, then to Fade it out, I went down to a #3 Guard and used the handle to make it a 3.5. Top ~ I used Scissors to Cut the Top and Blend it on the sides along the Parietal Ridge. I also sprayed his hair with water bottle and used Moroccan Oil to help control his think hair. Edges ~ I squared his edges off on the sides and the back of his neck with no guard on my Edgers.

🤣😂😊👍🏼 I have colored hair at the top and bottom my natural hair. So I cut the bottom part look like I have alopecia lol jk. I fix it up in the morning with my own razor that I bought. TBH I laughed at myself. But hey it's a learning curve. I want to evenly grow my black hair out so yup. 👍🏼😊😂🤣
I just use this to cut my husband's hair. It's my first attempt. I think it looks okay and he likes it. learned that the scooping part towards the top matters. thank you for the clean explained tutorial.
sorry, but you're more than a pinch of pretty. Have 4 kids and ex wife, trying to save all I can. tks so much, cut my 17 yr old per your vid and I have to say, he's a very handsome young man. tks to you!! tks so much!!!
Fantastic!! I was on fire cutting his hair lol!! I ended up giving him the cut no barber got right (according to me) My husband looks so handsome. At first I was shy, going slow. As soon as I realized that the worse that could happen was for him to have to get to the barber to correct it, I started enjoying it. He asked me to do it again!!
Me too lol :) I'm going to have to from now on, too. My husband just went into the bathroom and came out asking "how does my haircut look!?" I cannot believe that man tried to cut his own damn hair - I have to try to fix this mess before we meet up with friends for the night. The place he usually goes to is closed. Lord help me hahaha!! Thanks for the video- I have a much better idea now after watching it :D
She said in the beginning that it was her son... and the cape is something hairdressers put on their clients so that hair will not get on the client or the client's clothing. You don't have to wear a shirt, but if you're cutting a girl's hair, it would be odd for them not to, don't you think?
Great job explaining how to cut men's hair with clippers and blending with shears, I am a stylist and just graduated from beauty school and have a good job at a hair cuttery so I need to get all the practice I can nice job.
every barber shows their skills..but they didn't upload the mistake while cut the hair..i want you to be a first person upload a common mistake and how to fix it..because you have a great skill when you explain."teacher inside you"..easy and simple..me?ofcourse not..my internet is too slow here..i believe that you can upload it.
and i will waiting you.
9mm clip is fine for the sides, around the ears and the whole back. Then use the 6mm clip to go over the lower back (i.e. 2 to 2.5 inch's above the hairline) and the sides including the temple area. Use only the scissor, comb and two fingers technique for the top and front (Never use clippers in these areas).
Hope this helps!
This video is the excellent! The lady in the video is articulate, and an exceptional instructor. She explains each step thoroughly, then walks the viewer thru the steps and explains again, and then she performs what she just instructed. The only part I might have trouble with is the scissor cut on top - yikes! I can do it! (positive reinforcement 😉) So, I'm going to cut my guinea pig - I mean my husband's hair first, then - hopefully, my 9 y/o son's hair. Wish me luck! P.S. I also appreciate the education on the occipital ridge and parietal bone - knowledge is power!
Thanks for your prompt reply.
By the way, thanks to you and your son for this great Video;
It is by far the best on hair cutting, without all the frills demonstrated by cosmetologists and barbers.
Simple, Straight forward and caring. Greatly appreciate.
Thanks a lot for this. The moment you mentioned saving money in this economy you had my attention. Clear instructions and a good look. Kudos to your son, Chase, for being a patient model. Don't get many at that age willing to model for a video for mum. He is a star.
