I wish that I saw this video before I got it
Adan Diaz (1 year ago)
I bought a low quality Baron acoustic guitar from INTERCONTINENTAL MUSIC for $300 from a store that only sells baron guitars, and I could have gotten a fender for $100 less brand new on Amazon.

Where did you get that ruler for the fretboard
Adz Milz (1 year ago)
holy conoodle hahaha
Suicidal Rockstar (1 year ago)
Use the neck for a baseball bat and hit the guy over his head that made the guitar
TheGalwayFarmer (1 year ago)
It's as good as your playing pal. You think an expensive Gibson makes you a better player?????
Kryptic Orasse (1 year ago)
Great video, I really enjoy your vids :)
Kryptic Orasse (1 year ago)
I always love seeing those "Please stop making videos you suck" comments as if he's catering to what you want lol
edgeofeternity101 (1 year ago)
Wow toward the end the view of the neck was horrible twisted. I agree, that one is junk.
edgeofeternity101 (1 year ago)
I bought a G&L with the same problem. I set in my small kitchen and put a large pot of water on simmer for all day long for several days . The humidity finally stabilized and the neck came out straight and very nice. So glad I tried it, I was going to buy a new neck.
RDE Lutherie (1 year ago)
With a great many cheap guitars, the wood is not properly dried, and they cut it to shape anyhow, and slap that shit together. Even a complete re-fret with fingerboard leveling... may not do the trick, as they can easily twist again, given some time. It can even make you look bad! My guaranty in those situations: I guaranty that it's not going to hold up, and that you are better off with an instrument made by someone with a reputation for quality.
jimgchord (1 year ago)
please, please make a video of you running that neck through a table saw. please.
Something Different (2 years ago)
Looks like Bacon guitars. Look at that extreme angle on the cable jack lol. No internal shielding.
DankFamous 1 (2 years ago)
I subbed when I seen you beard less and thank you for your expert vid post
William Hughes (2 years ago)
NOT very knowledgeable!
ouncy (2 years ago)
Mate, you're fucking retarded.
Russ Attenborough (2 years ago)
Seriously mate if you can't adjust a truss rod, and recognise that the input jack is wired wrong ( 2 wires swap them over duh!) You have no idea what you are doing. I only watched 3 minutes and can clearly see it is wankers like you who make kids believe they have to have $3000 guitars to learn on.Do us a favour and do not make any more videos you are an idiot!
NicWithoutaK (2 years ago)
Holy shit man. At 0:56 seconds, when you're turning the guitar, you can already see just how fucked the action is.
Baron Guitar (2 years ago)
Those give my "Authentic" Baron Guitars a bad name.
wozzlepop (2 years ago)
That neck is giving Boy George a run for his money.
Matthew Brundage (2 years ago)
I have a guitar very similar, probably made in the same factory named "Baltimore" I'm planing on doing something with it and turning it into a travel guitar. These guitars are rubbish
Ben Sandrock (2 years ago)
Have you ever played anything in tune?
bikerdhill (2 years ago)
ah yes, the rubbish caster, I have seen many, and have owned 1 or 2 in my day, lol
Yufan Zhu (2 years ago)
I feel guilty of having an agile al-2500 .Guess he will have the same reaction to it.
Bob Saturday (2 years ago)
quit bein a pompous elitest fathead , these cheapies go for dirt on kijiji and can be fixed up for young kids who can't afford even a squier . what kinda "guitar tech" or luthier or whatever it is you think you are if you fail so miserably like this on something thats a bit of a challenge ???? can only do easy fixes ? useless in the real world ! and no benevolence to poor kids .
Publicity Stuntz (2 years ago)
Damn dude, so if it isn't a name brand guitar it's automatically shit? honestly I'd be afraid to send any guitars to you because they don't have a fender or Gibson logo they would probably be treated like crap
Publicity Stuntz (2 years ago)
+Bob Saturday Like, I understand some are bad but they're not all terrible because of the brand! I've seen videos where people played and they sounded just like a Fender or a Gibson. And some can even make a Chinese copy sound good too
Bob Saturday (2 years ago)
Robert Tyll right Rob , I've had a lotta fun playin on funky cheap guitars with wonky intonation and even written swamp blues tunes that sounded better on them than "proper" guitars
Publicity Stuntz (2 years ago)
+TCGpokemon yeah I did. Like I said, doesn't have a pretty label so it's garbage. And no, I do have better guitars. But I do enjoy playing with something offbrand. I'm sorry that my favorite guitar is not worthy of Nelson
Thunder Thumb Timmy (2 years ago)
Did you watch the entire video? Because I honestly think you're just mad you don't have better playing guitars.
Kempton Klutz (2 years ago)
Dude that's my guitar.
Louis Grim (2 years ago)
The body would be a perfect ashtray!
Aaron Mifsud (2 years ago)
Dude ive had a disney guitar here!
Manderson 72 (2 years ago)
I've taken apart many of these Chinese off brands. All crappy but this is by far the worst neck I've seen. Trash can.
deth502 (2 years ago)
i would not advise running that neck through a table saw to remove the fretboard. table saws do not generally take kindly to cutting steel truss rods.
Ed H (1 year ago)
LOL that's exactly what I thought when he said that. lol
Co Ah (2 years ago)
I've bought 4 or 5 guitars like this in the past, they make nice smashing guitars, lol. Just have a pick guard with decent pickups that I salvage and change between guitars. Buy em used for $20 a piece and it's not to expensive when you're gigging for $300 between 5 bandmates.
Tioga Fretworks (2 years ago)
Can see the neck bow from my iPhone :-) while it's on the bench - yikes.
James Walsh (2 years ago)
"Katty- wompus" ... " Holy Canoodle" ........Wow ! LOL. Shite is shite.
John Smith (2 years ago)
on the upside old guitar necks make great home defence weapons, I keep one next to the bed in case I have to tackle a burglar in the middle of the night, the cops are way less likely to give you shit about it compared to say a baseball bat.
John Smith (1 year ago)
+Dforce 10 there's at least one guy out there who will think very carefully before trying to steal my motorcycle again is all I will say on the matter.
Dforce 10 (1 year ago)
John Smith sounds like you're speaking from experience 😂. I keep a pitching wedge beside mine 😁

A Few things about cheap guitars- 1. They rarely, if ever, get a proper setup (fret leveling, proper intonation set, etc.) 2. They rarely are TAKEN CARE OF. Usually its a tossaround- which turns any guitar into a pile of junk. 3. Cheap electronics. You can replace pots, switches, and pickups to your heart's content. These are GREAT for people who want to learn how to setup a guitar, and experiment. Make a mistake and destroy it? not a big deal. you can get another one for 70 bucks. Every now and then, a cheap no-name guitar comes along that HAS been taken care of, HAS been properly setup, including swapping in decent electronics, and you have a gem that no one's heard of. Usually though, you come across them in pawn shops etc, and they are just beat beyond dead.
Eric Williams (2 years ago)
He's the Jim Gaffigan of guitar repair lol
Christian Hollifield (2 years ago)
Looks like I've found my new favorite channel! Subscribed, keep on rocking!
A10helixtangofoxtrot g (2 years ago)
Hey before you throw that neck in the garbage I've been looking for a junk guitar neck to play around with, could I have it I'll pay shipping?
TheColonelKlink (2 years ago)
Ah. The well known Crapper Shit-o-caster. Deluxe edition with tuner bushings. Neck twist at no extra charge.
SteelyGlow (2 years ago)
Nice paddle! The point is, that even if you manage to straighten the neck, it will twist over and over again in the same way. It's definitely cheaper to get a new one.

TCM = Totally Continental Music ;) Intercontinental or Continental Music has been in business since the early 70's. I recall in the mid 70's they had a shop on Rideau Street and used to sell Fender and Ibanez products. They lost there license to sell any legitimate musical instrument brands years ago. You see this junk in pawn shops all over town.
Paul Prior (3 years ago)
I love how casual your videos are lol..
Michael J. (3 years ago)
yeah we can see it one of the worst NEX ever seen
TheGalwayFarmer (3 years ago)

Where's your leBaron Freddy? Where's your leBaron?
Progbloke 66 (3 years ago)
It should be a criminal offense to sell guitars like that. What a chunk of shit !
RedWing101 (3 years ago)
This dude said holy kannoodle lmao
jack thelad (3 years ago)
why is this tit,s glass always half empty
David Skerritt (3 years ago)
"A total and utter waste of time": that sums up your video.
orlock20 (3 years ago)
For those that want a counterfeit guitar from China, which was all the rage a few years ago, this is what you would be getting. The Baron name just turns it from being a counterfeit to a knock off.
Connor (3 years ago)
I like how because he has kids in the house his profanity has turned child-friendly lol
heriberto rendon (3 years ago)
I have an extra squier neck. If you want it it's yours.
gsstrings (3 years ago)
Look at the akerman on it!!!!
Phillip McKnight (3 years ago)
Now you know how I feel, I work on about a half dozen of those kind of guitars a week and I have to get them playing because the majority of them come in because they belong to students that are starting lessons.
tallthinkev (3 years ago)
Put some good tuners on it, make the bridge a hard tail, plus 1 good pick up and you can have some to mess around with for slide.
Donkey Hurley (3 years ago)
+tallthinkev That's what I was thinking too.
sounds of lurv (3 years ago)
looks like a crimson guitars notched straight-edge if i'm not mistaken
orlock20 (3 years ago)
+GigglingDickhead You should see the PRS knockoff with "mocking birds" on the store's site. They even have Joyo knock off pedals and Joyo is already a knock off Chinese brand.
Michael Lavoie (3 years ago)
Where did you get the guitar from?
John Smith (3 years ago)
With the swimming pool route in the body you could do what a friend did and make your own pick guard and fit two Humbuckers instead of single coils... or P90s for a really different looking strat, or even a P90 at the neck and a Humbucker at the bridge. lots of options there   : )
orlock20 (3 years ago)
+John Smith Or for the less tech savvy, one can get multiple pickup combinations with the guts attached to the pick guard.
Bryant Rockwell (3 years ago)
I had a mail order bently model strat body knock off back when I was 12. Scraped the Bentley neck & replaced it with an old fender strat maple neck.......took it to a guitar guru in the next town. And he put one really good vintage single coil pick up in it. Still have that guitar. Played good, but then I got my hands on the real thing, and the rest was history. I think baron & Bentley are made in the same factory. Looking forward to seeing what is done with the body. Good video
SuperDd40 (3 years ago)
anybody heard of Robson ? just got one of those POS for free  and it looks a lot like that Baron, shitty pots, switch and pick-ups but the neck looks reasonably straight and i've got a bunch of parts leftover from other broken guitars so i think i'll put my jigsaw to work and make something interesting out of it
Simon Bradbury (3 years ago)
Ok I get it, it's junk it's junk......😜
orlock20 (3 years ago)
+Simon Bradbury It's Chinese junk without the boat.

DUDE! Back of the hand test. I swear you're gonna electrocute yourself one of these days on one of those cheap ass badly wired no earth guitars. Any guitar that buzzes as bad as this POC did shouldnt even be lifted, never mind played. p.s, what the actual fuck does cattywampus even mean?
gamer7138 (2 years ago)
The old school amplifiers had bad ground wires and because it was all wired up and steel strings were basicly a circuit to the microphone in a long way around touching both means a shortcircuit meaning electric discharge
kevin paul halliday (2 years ago)
You can insert a capacitor into your string ground, if you have one spare, to prevent being shocked. I usually have a few lying around. If you are a guitarist AND singer you have a much greater chance of being shocked because of your microphone going live than your guitar on it's own. Thankfully it is much rarer these days. RCD's are a lifesaver to a live performer who isn't sure about the electrics at the venue.
Bob Saturday (2 years ago)
tusskmusic pompous dingbat , you won't get electrocuted by a guitar dummy
John Smith (2 years ago)
Just as a matter of course, it's always a good idea to use a multi meter on any new (second hand - used) amp you get just to be on the safe side, I've personally only ever seen one old (PA system) amp that had a problem but it can happen, lets not forget that people still routinely collect and play amps that are 50+ years old, a lot can happen in that time and an amp that was perfectly safe when it was made could have been altered or become faulty since then.
Kurt Bremser (2 years ago)
+RorysIrishTour "Not grounded" in this context means that while the guitar has a correct hot&ground connection from the PU's to the amp and will play, the connection from signal ground to the bridge is broken and the strings do not have a connection to ground, as they should usually have.
D34THC10CK (3 years ago)
Baron guitars, the only place I've ever seen those was at intercontinental music in Ottawa, for the same price there are much better options, cheers
