How to Use Inline Tags in HTML

01:24
This HTML tutorial will walk you through the concept of Inline tags and their attributes on the web page. Don't forget to check out our site http://howtech.tv/ for more free how-to videos! http://youtube.com/ithowtovids - our feed http://www.facebook.com/howtechtv - join us on facebook https://plus.google.com/103440382717658277879 - our group in Google+ HTML Inline tags are similar to block tags. The only difference is that they don't use additional white space or a margin at the start. Inline tags are used when we have to display an Image or a Text on the webpage in lined with the rest of the text. Image or Text contained in an Inline tag wouldn't be displayed separately on the webpage. However, they can be modified with different styles and themes identically. Here, we will teach you how to use inline tags in a HTML page. Step # 1 -- Insert an Image Tag In this tutorial we will guide you on how to use inline tags in a HTML page. First of all, open up the source code of your HTML page in a Text editor. Now we are going to insert an image inline to the text. For this purpose, enter the image tag as im src = "cloud.png" / Step # 2 -- Save your Changes to view the image on the page By entering the Image tag in the HTML page, an image with the name "cloud.png" will appear in line with the text on the page. You can now save your changes and refresh the browser to view the image inserted successfully. Step # 3 -- Replace the Paragraph tag with Div tag Now in the next step, try to insert inline text by replacing the paragraph tags which is the "p" and "/p" with the "div" and "/div" tags. Once done, insert another "Div" tag inside the existed tag by entering the code as div style = "background: yellow; display: inline;" and put the closing tag at the end of sentence which you want to inline. Step # 4 -- Save your Changes to view the inline text on the page Now click on the "Save" button to save your changes and refresh the browser to view the inline text highlighted with a Yellow background on the page. In this manner, you can work with html inline tags.

How to create CSS Layouts - Web Development Tutorial for Beginners (#3) - with HTML & CSS

21:52
Web Development tutorial for Beginners Lesson 3. In this lesson, we'll cover CSS layouts for beginners, how to build hand coded CSS layouts, and some more intermediate CSS concepts. We'll be building a CSS navigation, using CSS floats, and creating a multi-column CSS layout. A helpful tool in doing web development is the Emmet plugin for Sublime Text. To install it, you'll need Sublime Package Manager (https://sublime.wbond.net/installation). Once package manager is installed, install Emmet by hitting Tools / Command Pallette, then type "package control: install package" and choose Emmet. As you can see in this video, there aren't an infinite amount of css rules. The most commonly used ones are: margin (spacing outside your html element) padding (spacing inside your html element) background (for color or image background) color (font color) display (block, inline, inline-block, none) border-radius (rounded edges) float (float left or right) ** You'll notice I didn't have the correct .row:after code, here it is, it needed content ** .row:after { clear: both; content: " "; display: table; } If you missed videos #1 and #2, here they are: Lesson #1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JluqTojuME Lesson #2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBi8Obib0tw Learn Javascript with the Javascript tutorials for beginners: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGdd9qNwQdQ&list=PLoYCgNOIyGACnrXwo5HMCfOH9VT05znGv -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Learning Web Development? How to Change HTML Table Border Style

01:22
Follow this tutorial to learn how to change the border of your HTML table in different border styles and to apply other styling techniques. Don't forget to check out our site http://howtech.tv/ for more free how-to videos! http://youtube.com/ithowtovids - our feed http://www.facebook.com/howtechtv - join us on facebook https://plus.google.com/103440382717658277879 - our group in Google+ In this tutorial on "how to change the Table Border style in HTML", we will teach you how to change the border of your HTML table. Border style of an HTML table can be changed by changing the style attribute in a table element. The style of the border is specified in the Cascading Style Sheets. There are a lot of border properties which can be applied to tables to create different border styles of the tables and their cells. Here in this tutorial we will discuss those various styles used in html for table borders. Step 1: Set Standard Border of a Table In order to set a standard border of a table, we set borders in the style attributes and the width of the border as 1 px. The third option lets us specify the color of the border. These three options can be used in html for table borders . Standard borders are 1 px in width and solid black in color. Step 2: Set Border around cells A standard border is a black outline around the table. In order to set a border around a cell of the table, we set the style as a border in the cell separately. The same is the case with the width of the border and the color of the border. The three options can altered for each of the cells separately to create different styles of border. Step 3: Removing Double Lines in a Border If the borders have been set twice, a double line will appear at the border. In order to set a single border, we apply the Cascading Style Sheet's border collapse property in the style attribute of each cell, separately. Step 4: Other Border Properties There are a lot of other properties of table border styles in HTML which can be applied to tables and their cells. Borders can be made curvy and aligned to one side of the table by using these border properties.

How to Apply Style in HTML

01:23
This tutorial will walk you through the concept of styling sheet in HTML and how to use its attribute in a HTML page. Don't forget to check out our site http://howtech.tv/ for more free how-to videos! http://youtube.com/ithowtovids - our feed http://www.facebook.com/howtechtv - join us on facebook https://plus.google.com/103440382717658277879 - our group in Google+ Style tag is the most commonly used tag for web designers for applying styles and themes of a web page. It is used to define a format and style of fonts, colors and their alignments. In HTML, we first have to create a style sheet using a CSS format. This style sheet contains pre-defined formatting. After creating a sheet, all we have to do is to simply call out the sheet in a HTML page source code by creating a link. Here in this tutorial, we will teach you how to apply style in html page using a CSS style sheet. Furthermore, we will teach you how how to link style sheets. Step # 1 -- Create a Style Sheet In this tutorial we will guide you on how to apply style in html. First of all, we are going to need a style sheet in a ".css" format which we have already created here as "Style.css". This style sheet contains pre-defined styles for your HTML page. Step # 2 -- Link the Style Sheet in your HTML Page Now open up the source code of the page in a Text editor to edit it. Once done, insert a "Link" tag in the "Head" section of the page by entering the following syntax as, link rel = "stylesheet" type = "text/css" href = "style.css" / In this syntax, the "Rel" code shows the relationship between your HTML page and the style sheet. The "Type" code is a string for using the css over text and the "href" code refers to the style sheet name which you want to apply on the page. In this manner, you can link style sheets and work with them accordingly. Step # 3 -- View the Changes Once done, go to the "File" menu, save your changes and refresh the browser to view the new style applied on your HTML page.

You may notice I added some coding, this is so you can create as much or as little space between the images as you'd like. for example you can change the 1px on each line to 3px. This will increase the space between each image. The larger the number, the greater the space. Here is the code I used: ***NOTE: Youtube wouldn't let me place the code as is, so I had to mod it a bit. *Replace all "11's" with "less than symbol" (shift + comma key) *Replace all "22's" with "greater than symbol" (shift + period key) 11div style = "text-align:center"22 11div style="display: inline-block; margin-right: 1px"22 [YOUR FIRST WORDPRESS CAPTIONED IMAGE] 11/div22 11div style="display: inline-block; margin-right: 1px"22 [YOUR MIDDLE WORDPRESS CAPTIONED IMAGES] 11/div22 11div style="display: inline-block; margin-right: 1px"22 [YOUR LAST WORDPRESS CAPTIONED IMAGE] 11/div22 11/div22

How to Change Text Color in HTML

01:26
This tutorial will teach you the ways of changing text color in HTML. There are two basic ways of changing text in HTML. Don't forget to check out our site http://howtech.tv/ for more free how-to videos! http://youtube.com/ithowtovids - our feed http://www.facebook.com/howtechtv - join us on facebook https://plus.google.com/103440382717658277879 - our group in Google+ In this tutorial we will teach you the ways of changing text color in HTML. Changing color of the text in HTML can be done in many ways. One way is to set s universal color for the whole text and the other way is to use a color for a specific attribute. Overall, there are 16 million colors of HTML with their 6-digit hex codes which are easily available on the internet. Step 1: Set Universal Color of the Text in HTML In html, to change text color you can set the universal color. Setting universal color means to set a color for all attributes of text like heading, paragraph etc in the body element. To set the color, you can use any of the 6-digit code for the color value or simply write the name of the color, for example orange or any other, along with the text. This will change all the text on a web page to orange. Similarly, by setting the text attribute to blue, the text color of the web page changes to blue.. Step 2: Change Text color of a paragraph in HTML If we don't want to change the color of the complete text on the webpage, we can use the "font" element for changing text color in html. We have to first set the color value inside the font element. The color value can be set by any of the 6-digit Hex code or writing only the color name. The text has to be placed within the font element. Over here, let's set the color to green and once your refresh the page, you can see that html changes the text color. Step 3: Change Line's Text color in HTML In order to change the color of a single line, we enclose the text within the text color attribute and set the color to the desired color. This change is specific to a piece of text and overrules any text color set at the universal level or to the paragraph containing the line.

How to Use Display: Block in CSS

00:52
Follow this step by step guide to learn the basic concept of Block tags used in HTML and their properties Don't forget to check out our site http://howtech.tv/ for more free how-to videos! http://youtube.com/ithowtovids - our feed http://www.facebook.com/howtechtv - join us on facebook https://plus.google.com/103440382717658277879 - our group in Google+ Block Tags are widely used in HTML designing and creating interactive web pages. When we insert a Block tag in a source code with an Image or Text, it will automatically add margin and space to it. Due to this property, an Image or a text which is inserted in the Block tag is displayed identically on the web page. Here we will teach you how to block tags in a HTML and how it will appear on the web page. Step # 1 -- Insert an Image Tag In this tutorial, we will guide you on how to block tags on a HTML page. Block tags are basically same as the inline images or text. However, a block tag takes vertical space on both sides when displayed on a page. In order to insert block tags, open up the source code of the HTML page where you have already inserted the inline tags on Text editor. Now, move over to the "Image" tag and add the code as Style = "display: block" Add this code between the Image source and the closing tag. Step # 2 -- Save the Changes In the next step, save your changes and refresh your browser. You will notice a cloud image appearing separately from the text as a block on the page. Step # 3 -- Using the Block Property of Tags Next, go back to the source code and move over the "Div" tag of the inline text and replace it with "Block" tag. Step # 4 -- Save your Changes and Display the Page Once you have replaced the tags, save your changes and refresh the browser in order to view your selected text as a block tag on the page.
