How to get rid of "White Highlight" behind your text in Blogger (Glitch)

02:24
I thought for some reason that I was doing something wrong when I kept getting this white highlight randomly showing up behind my text in my blog post. All would look fine in the editor but once it was published, it would show up. This is how I get rid of it. Blogger is working on a fix, so this is a fast way to fix it until they fix it. Otherwise Blogger mentions that if you use Firefox for your browser, it should not occur. I also wanted to mention that you may have a highlight of a different color. The steps are the same, you will just need to look for the other color name, and if you don't know what the color is, if you watch the video, just do a search for "background color"...in the search box instead of white...and then get rid of the color :0) Please feel free to visit my blog : http://heatherahudson.blogspot.com/ Hugs!! How to do edit and delete styles in Microsoft Word 2010

01:28
In this tutorial you will specifically learn How to do edit and delete styles in Microsoft Word 2010. Don't forget to check out our site http://howtech.tv/ for more free how-to videos! http://youtube.com/ithowtovids - our feed http://www.facebook.com/howtechtv - join us on facebook https://plus.google.com/103440382717658277879 - our group in Google+ Once you have created a style you might realize there are too many style options available but none of them. You can easily thus delete these styles or edit them according to your preferences using MS Word 2010. This office 2010 tutorial is about how to modify or delete styles previously created. In this tutorial you will specifically learn How to do edit and delete styles in Microsoft Word 2010. Step # 1 -- Select the Style for Modification You must firstly have a style in mind in order to make changes to it. Let's say you have already created a style before. Now you must go to the 'styles' option and click on the dialogue box launcher arrow. Here you will be able to see various styles, and the one you have created previously. In a new document, type some text and then select the style you would like to apply. Let's say in this case you want the 'Essay' option to be applied on the text selected. All you must do is highlight the word you wish to format, and then select 'Essay' in order to apply changes. Step # 2- Modify a Style You can now click on the style previously selected, for example 'Essay' and a drop down box will promptly appear on your screen. You must further click on the drop down arrow and then select 'Modify'. Once this is done, a dialogue box for the 'Modify Style' option will open ,using which you can modify the format of a specific style i.e. font style, font size and color. Step # 3 - Modify For All: Now a style has been made and modifications have been saved which can be applied to any document you like. You now have to decide whether you would like to apply the changes made to the current document only or to all future documents too. You can make your decision by using the options given in the lower part of the same 'Modify style' dialogue box. Step # 4 - Delete/Revert a Style: Once you open the drop down menu of a specific style, you will probably notice an item in the given options titled 'Revert to Title'. The function can be used to remove any particular style from the list of styles. You can do so by first going to a particular styles' drop down menu and then selecting the option named 'Revert to Title'. Once you click choose and select this option, the particular style chosen will not appear in the list of styles anymore.

iBook Author Tutorial- Importing Text From Microsoft Word.mov

01:47
In this video we will demonstrate how to insert a Microsoft Word text document into iBook Author, and then modify it accordingly. Once you have opened your iBook Author project, select the page you will be placing your text into. Next, locate the Microsoft Word text document you intend to bring into your template. Once you have selected the document, simply drag the file and drop it into the icon for your selected page. A window will pop up asking for a chapter or section style template choice for your text. Once you have selected a style, click choose. Your text will now appear according to the style you chose. Most likely the size and continuity of your text will need some modifications. The easiest way to modify your text while maintaining continuity is through using the Styles Drawer. To locate the Styles Drawer, simply locate and click on the blue button in the top left-hand corner of the page. Styles Drawer can also be found under the View dropdown menu by selecting the option, Show Styles Drawer. Now highlight various pieces of your text and find the style that fits best. To repeat the same style for repeating text elements, highlight the corresponding lines of text and simply modify by clicking on the given style for that element. This is how you insert and modify text from a Microsoft Word document in iBook Author. For more iBook Author tutorials, visit ecjourno.com/diyjourno.

Questia Video: Research Tools Demo

02:50
www.questia.com is the premier online research and paper writing resource. Questia helps students find and cite high-quality, scholarly research. Combining a deep library of online books and articles, easy-to-use search engine and time-saving tools, Questia will help you research smarter, faster. Learn how to use the time saving research tools within Questia, which are designed with the academic research process in mind -- save highlights, notes and bookmarks. Generate professional, professor-approved citations and bibliographies. Questia provides powerful, easy-to-use research tools directly within our books and articles to help you write better papers, faster. In this video, you will learn how to save books or articles, select and highlight text, cite passages, add notes, and bookmark pages within Questia. The first thing to know is, when you signed up for Questia, we created a Default Project to get you started, so you always have an active project. When you create notes, highlights, citations or any other research work, these items are always saved in whichever project is currently active. Your active project is indicated on almost every page of the site. Watch the Projects demo for more about creating and organizing projects. Save a book or article to your active project to quickly access it again or to easily include it in a works cited list later. Selecting text within a book or article opens a menu where you can choose to create a highlight, cite the selected passage, or look up the text in a dictionary or thesaurus. When creating a highlight, click the highlight button to save the highlight in the color you last used. Or, if you wish to use a different color, you can click the dropdown arrow to select one. This selection will become your new default color the next time you open this menu. You can also delete your highlight, or change its color. Cite a passage in one of three citation styles. Your citation is automatically generated in your default style. You can change the citation style and save the citation to your active project. When you change the style, your new selection becomes your new default for any citations or bibliographies you create afterward, helping you stay consistent. Cite the article or the current page of a book in one of three citation styles. You can quickly access your citation later. Bookmark a page in a book to easily come right back to that page later. You can bookmark as many pages as you need. Bookmarks can be removed by simply clicking on them. Add a note for yourself to a page or article. Notes are saved in your active project. You can view all the work from the current book or article that you've saved in your active project at once, without leaving the page. Within a book, you can jump directly to the page where you saved each item. When reading a book or article, only work that you saved in your active project will display. This helps keep your work separate, even if the same content is useful in more than one project. Try it out now for yourself at www.questia.com.

For a complete list of all the updates in Service Pack 9, visit http://cdl.bellevue.edu/Bb_Training/SP7-SP9.html This video, designed for Bellevue University Blackboard users, illustrates the most critical differences between Blackboard Version 9.1 Service Pack 7 and Blackboard 9.1 Service Pack 9. Bellevue will be updating to Service Pack 9 in August of 2012. A Service Pack update is not a major upgrade, but there are a few interface changes you will want to be aware of. You should also know that in addition to the information covered in this video, there are other, minor changes and enhancements, most that pertain solely to Bellevue Instructors, included in this update. These instructor-only changes pertain to activities involving the grading of tests, activity reports, menu headings, and rubrics. For a full list of all these changes, see the website given in this link and in the information below. This video will focus on two key updates, which affect both students and faculty: course-to-course navigation and the new and improved Text Box editor. In Blackboard 9.1 Service Pack 9, users can navigate from course to course without having to return to the Blackboard home page. This can be done via the course-to-course navigation menu in the upper left hand corner of your screen. Expanding this menu will reveal a pop up list of all courses in which you are enrolled, and you can maneuver to each course directly using this menu. The other major item included in this Service Pack upgrade is an updated Text Box Editor. This new and improved text box editor appears throughout Blackboard, in Discussion Boards, writing assignments, etc. For this video, we'll take a look at it in the creation of a new discussion board thread. First note the arrow button in the upper right hand corner of the text box editor. This button allows you to show more or less of the text editing options. You can use the "full screen" toggle button to switch your text box back and forth from full screen to window view, and the information button provides a key to the rest of the symbols utilized in the text box editor. Because this "information" button does provide a complete key for you -- you can also find out what a button does simply by hovering your mouse over it--, we're not going to go through every button in the editor, but I will point out a few highlights. The top line of buttons contains your standard text formatting tools - font, style, size, color, highlighting, etc. The second row contains tools you may recognize from your word processing software: cut paste, bullets, list, justification, indent, superscript, subscript, and text direction. The last two buttons in this second row are worth pointing out - this button is a spell check tool, and the eraser button removes all formatting - this is good button to use if you do run into problems pasting in text from a word document or other source. The third row of icons mostly includes buttons that allow you to add various types of enhanced content to your text: quotes, emoticons, attachments, images, mathematical formulas and symbols. If you would like to include a link with your post, you need to highlight some text in the text box, and then click the "add link" icon, which will have appeared. Two other rather unique add-ins I'd like to point out include the "embedded media" button, which is good if you have a specific youtube video or other piece of online content you want to add into your post. Simply paste the link in - the window should determine what kind of content it is and modify accordingly. You can also use the Mashup button to post youtube videos. This is a better choice when you don't have a specific video in mind and will need to search for one to use. It adds the youtube video in a very professional-looking link as shown. The bottom row of icons get a bit more technical - they include table creation and editing tools, and more advanced web design tools. For those who are comfortable editing directly with html code, you can use the HTML code view icon to switch to purely html view to make edits to your text. This concludes our introduction video for Blackboard 9.1 Service Pack 9. To see a complete list of all the changes and enhancements, most of which pertain to instructors, click on the link shown here, and contact the Service Desk, your instructor, or your course owner if you have any questions.
