Then, we add a Solid Color fill layer and set its color to white (1:29). The fill layer will be the background color for the text effect, so drag the fill layer below the photo (2:21). Adding The Text Select the photo layer (2:58). Then, select Photoshop's Type Tool (3:03), choose your font in the Options Bar (3:08), set your type color to white (3:47), and then add your text above the image (4:23). Finishing The Effect To enhance the effect, add a drop shadow to the text (9:58). Choose the Crop Tool and crop away any unwanted space around the letters. (10:58). Photoshop Camera Raw | Old Photo Effect

07:43
In this tutorial, I show you how to create an old vintage photo effect using the Camera Raw Filter in Photoshop CC. The same effect can be created using the main Camera Raw filter in Photoshop CS6. To age a photo and make it look old, we'll move the image from Photoshop into Camera Raw and use the HSL / Grayscale panel to create a custom black and white version. Then we'll use the Split Toning panel to add a sepia tone and give the photo an old fashioned look. We'll add film grain and a vignette effect using Camera Raw's Effects (FX) panel. And finally, we'll age the photo and make it look like it has faded over time by toning down the highlights, lightening the shadows and reducing contrast in the midtones, and from within the Basic panel in Camera Raw. ► Read the text version | Download the PDF: https://goo.gl/JSV7cg ► For more Photoshop tutorials, please Subscribe: https://goo.gl/yrk5u2 ► Get Adobe Photoshop CC: https://goo.gl/oiav4c WANT MORE VIDEOS? How to Fill Text with an Image in Photoshop

07:22
This tutorial shows you how to place an image in text with Photoshop. But rather than just filling a single word or a single line of text, we'll take things further and learn a simple trick that lets you instantly place an image in two or more type layers at once! ► Text version and PDF here: https://goo.gl/9m72iE In an earlier video, I showed you how to create a basic image in text effect, where we placed the image in a single word (https://goo.gl/oTi1jc). To create the effect, all we had to do was make a copy of our image, move it above the Type layer, and then clip the image to the text using a clipping mask. But what if you have multiple words, each on a separate Type layer, that you need to fill with the same image? How do you place an image into two, three or more Type layers at the same time? In this tutorial, we'll look at the problem we run into, and the easy solution! I'll be using Photoshop CC but any recent version will work. Enhance A Sunset Photo In Photoshop

HOW TO ENHANCE A SUNSET IN PHOTOSHOP | This video shows you how to enhance a sunset photo and restore those warm golden colors with Photoshop! Sunsets are one of the most widely-photographed aspects of nature. Yet our photos rarely do them justice. A sky once filled with rich, golden hues often ends up looking cooler, more muted, and ultimately less interesting. Blend Images in Photoshop like a Movie Poster

07:36
Learn how to easily blend images together in Photoshop to create a movie poster! To create the movie poster effect, we start by moving both of our images into the same document and positioning them where we need them. Then we blend the two images together using a layer mask. To help the photos blend more seamlessly together, we merge the effect onto a new layer and add a subtle texture. Since the colors in the photos don't match,, we convert both images to black and white, and then we colorize the effect with our color. And finally, we boost the contrast to create our final "movie poster" effect. Three Ways to Blend Two Images Together in Photoshop

11:09
Learn 3 powerful ways to blend photos and composite images in Photoshop. Covers layer opacity, layer blend modes, and layer masks! Perfect for beginners. Read the text version | Get the PDF: https://goo.gl/1kkVPw We start with the most basic way to blend two photos together using the Layer Opacity option in the Layers panel (0:37). The Opacity option is an easy way to change the transparency of a layer, allowing the image on the layer below it to show through. From there, we learn how to get more interesting and creative results by blending images using Photoshop's layer blend modes (2:54). Blend modes are great for blending any two images together, but they're especially useful for blending a texture with a photo. And finally, we learn how to blend two images seamlessly together using a layer mask (5:55). Unlike the Opacity option and blend modes which blend entire layers at once, layer masks in Photoshop let us show and hide different parts of a layer, making them perfect for blending images. ► Get Adobe Photoshop CC: https://goo.gl/oiav4c ► SUBSCRIBE for more Photoshop tutorials: https://goo.gl/yrk5u2 WANT MORE VIDEOS? Create Abstract Twirl Art Effects in Photoshop

14:16
This tutorial shows you how to turn photos into colorful, abstract twirl art and symmetrical twirl art effects in Photoshop, and how to customize the effects using smart objects, smart filters and layer blend modes! ► Text version and PDF here: https://goo.gl/pJAv9P ► SUBSCRIBE to channel: https://goo.gl/yrk5u2 Twirl art is where we take an image, blur it into rays of color, and then twirl it around its center using Photoshop's Twirl filter. We then make a copy of the effect, twirl it in the opposite direction, and then blend the two versions together using layer blend modes. We can even take things further and mirror the effect to create symmetrical twirl art designs! To keep our twirl art fully editable, we'll use smart objects and smart filters. Since smart filters can be very demanding on your computer, we'll create the initial effect on a separate, smaller version of the image. Resize Images without Losing Quality with Photoshop Smart Objects

13:01
Learn how to scale and resize images without losing quality in Photoshop using Smart Objects! You'll learn the difference between resizing a normal pixel image and resizing a Smart Object, and why Smart Objects always look better! To see the advantage of resizing an image as a Smart Object, we start by setting up a side-by-side comparison between a normal, pixel-based image and a Smart Object (0:27). Then we resize both versions of the image, first by scaling them down (3:16) and then scaling them back up (5:14) and we compare the results. We look at why Smart Objects are able to resize images without losing quality (8:45), and we finish off by upscaling both versions of the image back to their original size (9:59). At the end, I share an important tip for making sure you're always getting the best results (11:52). ► TEXT VERSION | PDF: https://goo.gl/sWmBBY ► More SMART OBJECTS tutorials: https://goo.gl/rDYYws ► SUBSCRIBE for new videos: https://goo.gl/yrk5u2 ► GET PHOTOSHOP CC: https://goo.gl/oiav4c SUPPORT THIS CHANNEL Help support this channel by becoming a member of Photoshop Essentials and get HUNDREDS of Photoshop tutorials as PDFs! Learn the Best Way to Add Lens Flare in Photoshop

This video shows you how to easily add gorgeous lens flare effects to your photos with Photoshop using the Lens Flare filter, and how to create the lens flare without making any permanent changes to your image! ► Read the text version | Download the PDF: https://goo.gl/rVqkgZ We'll start by learning how Photoshop's Lens Flare filter works, and how to position our lens flare exactly where we need it. Then, to keep the lens flare non-destructive, we'll undo the effect, add a new layer, and then instantly re-apply the Lens Flare filter using a handy shortcut! Finally, we’ll use the power of layer blend modes to blend the lens flare into the image, and finish off by adjusting its colors to better match the colors in the photo. Colorful Overlapping Text Effect | Photoshop Tutorial

16:00
In this tutorial, I show you how to create a colorful overlapping text effect in Photoshop, with colors that blend together where the letters overlap! We start by creating the effect on a white background, but you'll also learn the trick to using any background color you like! To create the effect, we'll add our text, convert the text into shapes, and then split the text into layers so that each letter is on its own Shape layer. We'll change the color of each letter and use a Gradient Overlay layer style to enhance the colors even more. We'll move the letters together so they overlap, and we'll use one of Photoshop's layer blend modes to blend the colors in the overlapping areas together! At the end of the tutorial, I show you the trick you need to know to change the background color of the effect without losing the original colors of the text, including how to quickly switch between background colors using a Solid Color fill layer! ► Get Adobe Photoshop CC: https://goo.gl/oiav4c WANT MORE VIDEOS? Photoshop Distort Text | 3D Perspective Text Effects

07:33
Learn how to distort test and add 3D perspective to your text using Photoshop's Distort and Perspective transform commands! Normally, Photoshop won't let us transform text with Distort or Perspective. But here, I show you a powerful trick that lets you unlock both commands while keeping your text fully editable! ► Read the text version | Get the PDF: http://bit.ly/DistortText ► SUBSCRIBE for new videos: https://goo.gl/yrk5u2 ► Get Adobe Photoshop CC: https://goo.gl/oiav4c VIDEO DESCRIPTION: We start by opening an image in Photoshop to use as a background and adding some text in front of it. Photoshop won't allow us to use the Distort or Perspective commands with Type layers, so we need to convert our Type layer into something else. We look at three options (rasterizing the text, converting the type to a shape, and converting the type to a smart object) and which one will give us the best results. Once we've unlocked the Distort and Perspective commands, we learn the difference between them and how to use each one to transform our text into different shapes and 3D perspectives. We then add a couple of effects to the text (changing the blend mode and adding a layer style). And finally, we learn how to edit the text while keeping our Distort or Perspective transform, along with our effects, intact! ► SUBSCRIBE for new videos: https://goo.gl/yrk5u2 SUPPORT THIS CHANNEL Help support this channel by becoming a member of Photoshop Essentials and get HUNDREDS of Photoshop tutorials as PDFs! Photoshop Rainbow Color Eyes Effect Tutorial

RAINBOW EYES IN PHOTOSHOP | This tutorial shows you how to easily create a rainbow eye color effect with Photoshop CC and CS6. Written version and PDF here: https://goo.gl/GwBnbo To create the rainbow color eyes effect, we'll use the Ellipse Tool, one of Photoshop's basic shape tools. We'll draw a circular shape over each eye and then fill the shapes with a gradient. We'll use the Spectrum gradient which gives us every color in the rainbow. To blend the colors into the eyes, we'll use one of Photoshop's layer blend modes. Then, we'll clean things up using a layer mask. Curvature Pen Tool in Photoshop CC 2018 Complete Guide

16:19
Learn how the new Curvature Pen Tool, a new feature in Photoshop CC 2018, makes drawing paths, shapes and selections in Photoshop easier than ever! If you enjoy this video and want more, just click the Subscribe button! Read the text version | Download the PDF: https://goo.gl/TJbfNR One of the biggest Photoshop CC 2018 new features is the Curvature Pen Tool. The Curvature Pen Tool is a simplified version of Photoshop's standard Pen Tool. It lets us draw complex shapes and paths without the need to edit control handles or remember keyboard shortcuts. Using the Curvature Pen Tool is as easy as clicking to add points. Photoshop then uses those points to automatically draw your path. As its name implies, the Curvature Pen Tool draws curved lines by default. But as we'll see, it's just as easy to draw straight lines, and to switch between curved and straight lines as needed. And like the standard Pen Tool, we can easily convert our path outlines into selection outlines, allowing anyone, even beginners, to make clean, professional selections in Photoshop. Photoshop Smart Objects: How to EDIT a Smart Object

12:19
In this video, I show you how to edit a smart object in Photoshop, and how to replace a smart object's contents! Two powerful advantages of using smart objects are that we can edit their contents, and we can even replace their contents, and have our changes instantly appear in the document. Editing the contents is great for when you want to keep the same image inside the smart object and just change its appearance. But we can also replace the contents with a completely new image, making smart objects perfect for creating reusable templates! To help us learn about editing and replacing a smart object's contents, we'll convert an image into a smart object and then place it inside a frame. Once it's in the frame, we'll learn how to edit the image inside the smart object, and then how to replace it with a different image! I'll be using Photoshop CC but everything is fully compatible with Photoshop CS6. ► Text version and PDF: https://goo.gl/KRgVHW ► SUBSCRIBE for new videos: https://goo.gl/yrk5u2 ► Get Adobe Photoshop CC: https://goo.gl/oiav4c SUPPORT THIS CHANNEL Help support this channel by becoming a member of Photoshop Essentials and get HUNDREDS of Photoshop tutorials as PDFs! It's actually very easy, and in this tutorial, you'll learn three ways to do it! In the first way, you'll learn how to remove the background behind the text (1:08), how to save your text effect in a file type that supports transparency (1:26), and how to place the file into your new background (2:23). Written version and PDF: http://bit.ly/photo-border-effect Photo borders are a great way to add a sense of class and elegance to an image. And adding a border in Photoshop is easy once you know the steps. To create the border, we'll start by adding more space around the image using Photoshop's Canvas Size command, and I'll show you the trick to getting the exact border size you need. Then, we'll fill the space with color using a Solid Color fill layer. You'll learn how to choose a color from the Color Picker, and how to customize the border to your specific photo by grabbing a color directly from the image itself. Once we've added the main photo border, I'll show you how to add a second, smaller border around the image using a Stroke layer style.
